Do you frequently encounter issues such as no video image, inability to unlock, no audio, inability to make voice calls, inability to unlock with password, inability to unlock with card, and other malfunctions in the building intercom system you've built? These are common problems in building intercom system projects.
In the security projects we've undertaken, malfunctions are common, and there can be many reasons for them. But how should we troubleshoot when they occur? If you're not familiar with the maintenance and management of digital visual intercom brands, let me explain:
Malfunctions mainly include: no video image, inability to unlock, no audio, inability to make voice calls, inability to unlock with password, inability to unlock with card, and other malfunctions.
How should we solve these malfunctions?
No video image
When the indoor visual handset and the unit entrance host are working, the visual handset cannot display the video image in front of the host: First, check if the wiring from the host camera to the host control board is intact, then carefully check if there is any water damage on the camera control board (if there is water damage, the camera is likely damaged). If possible, use a monitor for testing. Connect the monitor to the video cable end of the host. If it works normally, it indicates a problem with the main video cable; if not, it indicates a host problem. Then, connect the video signal of the camera directly to the monitor. If it works normally, it indicates a problem with the host control board; if not, it indicates a camera problem.
Inability to unlock
Any unlocking method other than mechanical unlocking fails: First, check if the electric lock wires are properly connected at both ends. Then, use a multimeter to test the electric lock end. When unlocking, check if there is a momentary current exceeding 300 mA through the unlocking wire. If so, it indicates that the host and unlocking wire are normal, and the electric lock is likely damaged. Replace the electric lock for testing. If not, test the host unlocking end with a multimeter. If there is a current, the unlocking wire is faulty; if not, it indicates a host problem.
No audio
When any terminal and the host are working, the host cannot hear: First, check if the host speaker wire is properly connected and if the speaker is rusty or damaged. You can try replacing it with a similar speaker.
Inability to make voice calls
When any terminal and the host are working, neither side can hear: First, check if the host microphone wire is properly connected and if the microphone is damaged. If possible, replace it with a 52DB microphone for testing. (Generally, handset microphones can be used with the host).
Inability to unlock with password
Inability to unlock with password is mostly due to host software malfunction. Please send it back to the manufacturer for repair.
Inability to unlock with card
First, check the wiring between the access control controller and the host, then check if the antenna of the access control controller is intact. You can test by replacing the access control controller.
