Beijing public rental housing communities are gradually adopting "facial recognition" systems
Recently, Beijing's public rental housing has begun to use facial recognition systems, allowing tenants to enter using facial recognition.
To facilitate the daily lives of public rental housing tenants, for delivery and courier personnel, after submitting relevant supporting documents, collection and recording are provided. Shan Zhenyu, director of the Beijing Affordable Housing Center Information Center, introduced that the information system currently has more than 2,000 pieces of information of this type. With the gradual implementation of the facial recognition system, the number of such information will increase. Shan Zhenyu stated that such information that has changed will be updated accordingly.
Reporters learned from the Beijing Affordable Housing Construction Investment Center that 59 public rental housing projects in operation in Beijing have achieved full coverage of the facial recognition system. Thus, the facial recognition equipment in the first batch of 13 public rental housing communities has been put into use. By the end of October, all 59 public rental housing communities will be able to use facial recognition for entry and exit. Relevant officials from the Affordable Housing Center stated that the installation of facial recognition equipment in public rental housing will better ensure the lawful and compliant use of public rental housing, strengthen the supervision and management of subletting and lending of public rental housing, and strictly control idlers entering and leaving the community, providing security for residents.
Previously, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued a "Notice on Further Strengthening the Supervision and Management of Subletting and Lending of Public Rental Housing," requiring that public rental housing projects included in the city's affordable housing construction plan should fully adopt facial recognition and smart locks. Currently, the backend database of the facial recognition system includes more than 69,000 tenant information and more than 64,000 co-resident information, totaling more than 130,000 pieces of tenant and co-resident facial information. In the 59 public rental housing projects of the Affordable Housing Center, the collection of facial information of applicants and co-residents has been basically completed.
According to whether it is an independently managed public rental housing community, the facial recognition system is divided into three types: independently managed public rental housing communities install facial recognition systems at entrances and exits, preventing tailgating through identity verification and on-site staff management; non-independently managed public rental housing communities install facial recognition systems at unit doors, integrating with the existing intercom access control system to ensure that public rental housing residents can conveniently enter and exit; in addition, for housing units that cannot be independently managed within the same unit, fingerprint locks will be used for management. It is reported that so far, all three types of recognition systems have been applied in public rental housing communities.
